Latest News

ACT Hockey will be only providing UTC umpires for three senior men's and women's grades this 2025 season: CL1, CL2 and SL1.
Umpires for the remining men's and women's grades (SL2-SL5) will be the responsibility of the clubs to provide.

This means we will need more players who are willing to umpire this year. If you could umpire one or more games, please register here.
You can register to do only one game, if that's all you want, and of course you can register to umpire more games if you want.

You can also use this event form to register to umpire our junior commitments too.

2025 Rules & Interpretations

  • This season Hockey ACT require all players in a defensive short corner to wear a protective face mask.
  • The interpretation to the lifted ball will change slightly in 2025, to allow players to approach a player receiving the ball as soon as they have touched it. The player not receiving the ball will still need to be 5 meters away. However, rather than wait for the receiving player to play the ball down to the ground or have it 'under control', the opposition player can approach as soon as the receiving player makes contact with the ball.

The latest version of the FIH Rules of Hockey are dated Jan 2022. There's also a FIH Rules of Hockey App you can download from the apple app store or google play store  The FIH website also has links to indoor hockey rules and other formats such as Hockey 5's
