Vale Will Bayliss

Published Tue 19 Nov 2024

We are extremely saddened to announce the tragic loss of former Wests junior, Will Bayliss in a car accident on the morning of 10 November 2024.  Will was only 26 and already touted as the greatest Australian woodworker of his generation.

Will played with Wests from 2013 to 2018, starting in U15’s.  We quickly discovered he was a talented goalkeeper, a natural progression from his wicket keeping in cricket. He also enjoyed a run on the field, particularly up front where he would often score sneaky goals.  Will transitioned seamlessly to seniors and ended up keeping for CL2 before giving up hockey to concentrate on his burgeoning woodworking career. It was a privilege to watch Will grow into an amazing young man who was not afraid to follow his dreams.

Our heartfelt condolences to Will’s family and friends, we cannot imagine what they are going through, it is just too devasting for words.

Will’s funeral will be held on Thursday 21 November 2024 from 11am to 12.30pm at Margaret Whitlam Pavillion at the Arboretum - https://www.williamcolefunerals.com.au/calendar-of-services/william-bayliss.
