Social Hockey

Hockey ACT run several social hockey competitions during the year, ranging from summer social to masters.

Current competitions include:

Sunday Twilight

Sunday 27th October to Sunday 15th December

The Sunday afternoon social competition is open to all and allows friends and family to play together in a relaxed and fun environment. The Sunday Social competition will be played on a full-sized field with 50 minute games consisting of 2x25 minute halves. The competition is played with modified social rules making it safer and more inclusive for all skill levels.

Reminder: This is a social competition designed to allow friends and families to play together and introduce new players to our sport. 

Division 1: 
Players 13 years and above. 
If your team is made up of current players (any grade) it is suggested that you register in Division 1.

Division 2:
Players 10 years and above. 
Designed for families and beginners. 
There is no hitting or raising the ball. 

Costs: Aprox $130 for 8 weeks including umpiring

Thursday Twilight

Thursday 24th October to Thursday 12th December 2024

The Thursday night social competition is aimed at existing hockey players who are looking to continue playing over the summer months. Games are played on a full-sized hockey field (91.4m long and 55m wide), with 4 x 17-minute quarters. Games will be scheduled between 6 pm and finished by 10:30 pm. Teams are mixed gendered with all players required to be registered prior to the begining og the competition. No player is permitted to participate in a game if they are not registered. A ladder will be kept for this competition with results entered via the RevSport portal each week. Bar tab prizes will be awarded to teams for the last round.

Women's Masters Social Competition

Friday 25th October to Friday 13th December 2024

The competition is open to women ages 34 and above played at the National Hockey Centre in Lyneham. Teams may have one player over 30 and an optional goalkeeper that may be any age.  The 5-a-side hockey format will run on Friday nights between 6 pm – 9 pm (dependent on nominations). Games will be played on half fields with 2 x 20-minute halves. All games will have one umpire. Scores are kept for Division 1 with bar prizes awarded to both divisions for the last round.
